DILI, 21 june 2023 (TATOLI)- the National University of Timor Loro Sa’e ( UNTL) and the Presbiteriana Mackenzie University from Brazil opened the first postdoctoral study course in Timor – Leste.
The Rector of UNTL Joao Martins Soares informed this postdoctoral course is opened at UNTL based on the cooperation between Centro de Estudos da Culturas e Artes ( CECA) of UNTL together with the University of Presbiteriana Mackenzie in Brazil.
“We now have a postdoctoral course in Timor – Leste. This course program is the first program offered by UNTL in Timor – Leste and we have 13 students of are currently taking up postdoctoral,” UNTL, Joao Martins Soares told TATOLI in Fundacao Oriente at Grecenfor, Dili on wednesday.
Soares explained, since this program is under the cooperation of both universities, therefore all the lecturers come from Presbiteriana Mackenzie University.
“We have just started this postdoctoral program, therefore all the process and face-to-face learning activity is also still very limited, so UNTL and Presbiteriana Mackenzie University this year will open the first course of literacy, linguistic, and culture,” he said.
UNTL believes that this cooperation will continue and another course will be offered gradually in the future.
“With this cooperation, UNTL will learn the experiences from the Presbiteriana Mackenzie University from its lecturers and further UNTL will open the post-graduation program in the UNTL itself to ensure the human resource in Timor Leste,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the learning activities for the postdoctoral course program will take place at UNTL.
