It is said that The European Union and Timor-Leste stand together in the defense of democracy, human rights, international law, and multilateralism. European Union will continue to support Timor-Leste’s accession to ASEAN, to the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and certain Pacific states, and to the WTO.
“We trust that, with your guidance, these processes will boost economic growth and regional integration. Making use of the opportunities on offer through the EU’s Global Gateway and other means, we will remain a steadfast supporter of economic diversification and the creation of improved livelihoods for Timor-Leste’s young people. We look forward to expanding cooperation on climate change and digital transformation. I am confident that EU-Timor-Leste relations will see a further deepening and strengthening in the years ahead,” she concluded.
Prime Minister, José Alexandre Kayrala Xanana Gusmão was officially sworn in on 01 July 2023 along with 46 members of the government consisting of two Deputy Prime Ministers, 19 Ministers, 10 Deputy Ministers, and 15 State Secretaries. This ninth constitutional government has six female government members.
