CNC: Over 100 victims will entitle to subsidies from MSSI

DILI, 11 july 2023 (TATOLI)- Over 120 victims will be entitled to receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) in 2023.

The Director of the Solidarity Division for Victims of Combatants at the CNC, Nelson Miranda Seixas said, the 120 beneficiaries are the victims who had suffered during the struggle for Independence, saying therefore this year, they are entitled to receive the support of subsidies from MSSI.

“The existing data shows that there are 120 victims of combatants who are entitled to subsidies, which will be processed in August; they will get their rights,” explained the Director of the Solidarity Division for Victims of Fighters at Tatoli exclusively at the Balide CNC office.

The National Directorate of Community Reintegration has requested that the CNC submit the names of the victim’s female combatants who deserve the subsidy.

He also reported that data on combat victims have been registered in the database for a total of 1,600 from 2001 to 2022. It was recorded that more than 330 combat victims had received their rights.

It stated that the funds for a subsidy for fighters were made available by MSSI according to an initial agreement that each year it would provide a subsidy of $80,000, but this year it would be reduced to $60,000.

“Victims will receive this subsidy of $500 for each person and will get it once,” he concluded.
