DILI, 12 july 2023 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers has approved today the program of IX Constitutional Government to be adopted during its five-year mandate.
The program summarized the public policies to strengthen and optimize the sectors of governance and their resources to transform the vision of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Strategic Development Plan 2011 – 2030 into reality.
The Program is made up of six main areas, including the reaffirmation of the democratic rule of law, the development of social capital, the development of infrastructure, the development of the economy, government consolidation and good governance, and the fight against corruption.
In a press conference, the Minister for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Hermenegildo Antonio Cabral Pereira said that the Council of Ministers held extensive meetings at the Government Palace for more than a week to discuss the Government’s program for the next five years.
“We discussed the draft program presented by the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, for each member of the Government. Today, the program is approved and will be presented to the National Parliament for its approval,” Minister Pereira said at the Government Palace, in Dili, today.
The Council of Ministers has decided to present to the National Parliament a Vote of Confidence on the Government’s commitment to fulfilling its Program, in order to promote the development, prosperity, and well-being of Timorese citizens.
