DILI, 25 july 2023 (TATOLI)- President of National Parliament and National (PNP), Maria Fernanda Lay received the Program Director of the International Republican Institute (IRI), Diana Margaret James discussed working cooperation for democracy reinforcement in Timor-Leste.
“The focus of the discussion today is related to IRI’s main program of Democracy reinforcement. We want to hear from the President of the National Parliament’s opinion to encourage IRI to provide better support to the National Parliament. It is also included building networking, which more effectively supports Parliament members,” Program Director IRI, Dianna Margaret James told journalists, after meeting with PNP, in the National Parliament, this tuesday
Regarding Democracy reinforcement, She said IRI provides scenery to be implemented with National Parliament members and also to be more improving on democracy reinforcement system.
IRI also has the same program “Koalia ba Hau” as a broadcasting program involving National Parliament members,” she said
she said it is a great joyful meeting between NPP and IRI. It is a big motivation for IRI to closely work with National Parliament members, for the specific television talk show program from each commission.
IRI has been established in Timor Leste since 2000 until now, it comes with a main program of democracy reinforcement.
