DILI, 31 july 2023 ( TATOLI) – The Ambassador of Japan to Timor – Leste, Tetsuya Kimura, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Rural Development Affairs, Mariano Assanami Sabino Lopes, to discuss the continuation of the rural infrastructure development project which had conducted by Japan in Timor – Leste.
“We discuss the continuation of the rural development infrastructure project that has been implemented in Timor – Leste and will work together with the Coordinating Ministry of Rural Development Affairs to continue the project aim to offer proper life to the Timorese people in the rural area and diversify the economy, ” the futureAmbassador Tetsuya Kimura told reporters at the government palace Dili.
The rural development infrastructure project includes the construction of schools, and health centers, the canalization of clean water, reforestation in Ermera, irrigation in Baluto, Manatuto, Maliana, and other related developments in all municipalities across the Timor – Leste.
Deputy Prime Minister Mariano Assanami Sabino appreciates Japan’s support for Timor-Leste and said: “We thanked the Japanese Government which had supported Timor – Leste in developing the rural area through its rural development infrastructure project and will continue to work together with Japan to strengthen the rural development infrastructure project better in the future,”
He said, in addition, the ninth constitutional government committed to working together with the Japanese Government to create an integrated data center including recruiting employees to retrieve data on all basic infrastructure that have been built by International Agencies and local companies.
“The data center would help international agencies and NGOs in conducting the project of rural development in Timor – Leste. The creation of this integrated data center will facilitate us in developing the rural development infrastructure better in the future,” he concluded.
