DILI, 14 october 2023 (TATOLI) – Erick Prawira Suhardhi, Medical Director at Siloam Hospitals, in Jakarta Indonesia, has pledged to provide adequate medical treatment to Timorese patients who require intensive treatment at the Siloam Hospitals.
“We put patients and their safety first. We want to make sure that patients leave Siloam Hospitals with appropriate medical care. So, we will coordinate with the Timorese doctors at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) to ensure that those who have received treatment at our hospital can continue their medical treatment at the HNGV, if needed, after returning to Timor-Leste,” Suhardhi told reporters at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), in Dili, last week.
He reiterated that Siloam Hospital will provide good medical care for Timorese patients, as the hospital has many senior doctors with experience and specialization in providing medical care for various health problems at the hospital.
Currently, six Timorese patients are hospitalized at Siloam Hospitals to receive intensive medical treatment for cancer, nervous system problems, and heart problems.
Suhardhi said that there has been no problem with financing the medical care for these patients, saying that Siloam and the Timorese government have a very good cooperation in transferring Timorese patients to receive medical treatment at Siloam Hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Siloam hospitals have also committed to supporting doctors at the HNGV in capacity building and training on how to provide adequate health care to patients.
“We’re here to share our experiences with HNGV doctors on how to put patients and their safety first,” said Suhardhi at the National Workshop, held at HNGV, last week.
He said: “We need to strengthen our collaboration so that Timorese doctors who have difficulties in performing difficult tasks can contact us for help.”
Several Siloam doctors specializing in cardiology, surgery, neurosurgery, and oncology shared their knowledge and experience at the workshop.
