DILI, 17 october 2023 (TATOLI) – Kewe-Ara Unip. Lda applied the use of the Automatic Plant Watering System Using Android to boost horticultural production in Lautem Municipality.
The utilization of the automatic plant watering system using Android led Kewe-Ara manager Almerindo da Silva to win the 4th Youth Business Innovation Challenge competition last month with a prize of US$2,500.
The Automatic Plant Watering System Using Android provides the solution to control and monitor the activity of watering horticultural plants.
Almerindo said that investing in horticultural production is necessary to generate income: “I’m currently investing in horticultural production by utilizing Automatic Plant Watering System Using Android. The use of this system is to better control the process of watering the plants.”
“The water pump in my horticulture garden is connected to an automatic plant watering system application,” he said.
In 2017, Almerindo and his wife began cultivating their parents-owned farm with various horticultural crops.
Currently, Kewe-Ara produces eight different horticulture crops, namely long beans, lettuce, tomatoes, chilies, water spinach, mustard greens, and eggplants.
Almerindo da Silva has a degree in civil engineering from the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) and is committed to making a living from modern farming.
