Dili Airport Launches operation services of Automated Parking System Equipment

DILI, 06 december 2023 (TATOLI) – The government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) launched operation services of the Automated Parking System (APS) at the President Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili.

The installation of the APS equipment is one of the Air Navigation Administration Timor-Leste (ANA-TL) projects taking forward to further enlarge the parking spaces and spatial efficiency at the airport.

The president of the Timor-Leste Air Navigation Administration (ANA-TL), José Trindade da Cruz Pinto, said that ANATL had spent more than US$90,000 for the installation of the APS equipment.

With the installation of the APS equipment, President Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili would accommodate the parking of 400 vehicles.

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Miguel Marques Gonçalves Manetelu, thanked ANATL for improving the parking system at Dili airport.

“I am pleased to see the launch of the APS operation services at Dili airport, as it will generate revenue for the country,” said Minister Manetelu.

The trial implementation of the APS will take place during december 2023, however, any vehicle entering the airport, in january 2024, will be charged. Motorcycles would be charged at $0.50 cents per hour, $1 for cars and $1.50 for buses and trucks.
