DILI, 03 january 2024 (TATOLI) – Business Registration and Verification Service (SERVE, I.P) has requested the government to provide or build a new building for the institution to better serve the public.
The executive director of SERVE, I.P, Florência Sanches, said that the institution is currently renting a space in the Palm Business Trade Centre to carry out the services.
He said that SERVE, I.P. didn’t have the budget to continue renting the office, so he had to move back to his previous office at the UN Compound, in Caicoli, Dili.
“SERVE, I.P. needs a new office to provide good services to the public,” Sanches told TATOLI.
He said therefore, the government has to build a new building for the institutions: “In order to be able to provide adequate services to 300 clients a day, we need a new building, otherwise we would only serve up to 20 people a day in the previous office.”
SERVE, I.P in collaboration with the Tax and Customs Authorities, generated more than US$180 million in revenue in the last decade.
Sanches, said that of the 46,000 registered companies, 130 of the international companies contributed US$180 million to national revenues through taxes: “From 2013 to november 2023, we managed to generate US$180 million to the National Treasury.”
He reported that from january to november 2023, SERVE, I.P. registered more than 5,000 companies.
“In collaboration with the tax and customs authorities, every year we generate up to US$200,000 in revenue,” said Sanches.
