Another seven Timorese to leave for Japan to attend TIT program

DILI, 26 january 2024 (TATOLI) – Seven more young Timorese will leave for Japan on monday (29/01) to take part in a three-year Technical Intern Training (TIT) program, in Kochi Province, Japan.

These seven Timorese who will be leaving next week, including Maria Josefina Correia, Adelino Raul dos Santos, Joanico Fernandes Bili, Rui das Neves, Noel Zoldino Xavier, Francisco Ribeiro Maia and Florindo Ribeiro.

The Secretary of State for Cooperation, Arsénio Pereira da Silva, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), advised the seven Timorese to use the opportunity wisely to learn new knowledge and skills in order to implement them in the country.

“I would like to encourage these young people to respect Japanese culture, and obey the rules, and regulations during their three-year stay in Japan,” he said.

The Japanese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Tetsuya Kimura congratulated the seven students on their successful application and being selected as the best for the second intake of the program. 

Ambassador Kimura also encouraged these young people to apply their knowledge and skills in Timor-Leste to help develop the country’s agricultural sector to improve agricultural production, etc.

Maria Felizarda Josefina Correia, the only woman in the group, said that she will dedicate her time to learning new skills and experiences in order to contribute to the country’s development when she returns home.

Seven Timorese of the first intake went in september 2023 to attend the same TIT program in Kochi, Japan.
