MoFAC hold seminar to strengthening cooperation with CPLP

DILI, 12 march, 2024 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC) through the National Directorate for the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) held a two-day seminar that brought together the focal points of the various ministerial lines to discuss, exchange ideas, as well as propose suggestions, to strengthen collaboration with the CPLP.

The MNEC’s Country Director for the CPLP, Aviano Faria, said that this seminar is a good opportunity for direct interaction with the national sectoral focal points, following the organization’s summit held under the presidency of Angola in 2021.

“I hope that this two-day seminar will be very fruitful and enriching. I also hope that the national sectoral focal points will present the difficulties, concrete proposals, how we can strengthen our cooperation, as well as better deepen our articulation with the executive secretariat of the CPLP,” Faria told reporters, at MNEC’s Office, in Dili.

He said that this activity was an opportune moment for the focal points in the areas of health, the environment, agriculture, and fisheries, among others, to express their opinions on the challenges and opportunities for strengthening cooperation with the CPLP.

Maria Filomena, the focal point of the Secretariat of State for Equality (SEI), said that the subject of gender equality and women’s empowerment, international legislation and conventions, sustainable development, etc.

“In addition to this seminar, we also want to have training on Portuguese language training four focal points,” she said.
