DILI, 09 may 2024 (TATOLI) – Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of Suwon, Korea laid the foundation stone for the construction of a clinic in Maloa, Dili to provide health care to the communities. The six-month project is expected to be completed in October, this year.

The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Dili, Dom Virgílio Cardinal do Carmo da Silva.

The Director General of the Health Care Services Corporation of the Ministry of Health (SENAEM.IP), Simplicio Amaral said that the construction of the clinic would contribute to improving public health care services in the country.

“This clinic will be called St. Vincent. It will provide health care to the communities and will become the center of internship and related medical practice for the medical students of the Catholic University of Timor-Leste (UCT),” he said.

More than four doctors and several nurses will be deployed to provide health services at the clinic.
