Govt approves a donation of US$4 million to support Brazil Flood Victims

DILI, 23 may 2024 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers, on wednesday, approved the government resolution to grant a donation of US$4 million to the government of Brazil to support the flood-affected victims.

The resolution was presented by the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister Coordinator for Economic Affairs, and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay.

The donation would be given to support the flood-affected families Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Authorities reported that the death toll from the floods caused by the heavy rains has reached 157, and the number of missing persons stands at 94. Meanwhile, the number of injured has reached 807, with more than 2.3 million people having been affected by the floods. In addition, over 620,000 people have been displaced.

The government expresses its solidarity with the Brazilian people, especially with the population of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which was devastated by the floods.
