DILI, 24 july 2024 (TATOLI) – From 24- to 25 july 2024, the Delegations from the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), with the Malaysian university representatives (Asia Pacific University (APU); University Multimedia (MMU); and University Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL)) and the Yayasan Sukarela Siswa (YSS) Malaysia / Students Volunteers Foundation in collaboration with the Embassy of Malaysia will organize a two-day program on higher education and volunteerism in Dili, Timor-Leste.
In the morning session, EMGS and the Malaysian university representatives begin the seminar with a briefing about studying in Malaysia to over 70 participants which consist of the Timorese scholarship candidates, final-year school students, and representatives from the Human Capital Development Fund (FDCH) at the Suai Room, Timor Plaza Hotel.
The program continues with the afternoon session to be conducted by the Yayasan Sukarela Siswa (YSS) Malaysia / Student Volunteers Foundation at the Leadership Room of City 8 in Dili. The future ASEAN Leaders participants, Student representatives from the local national and private universities/institutions such as the Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL); Universidade de Dili (UNDIL); Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ); Universidade Católica Timorense (UCT); Dili Institute of Technology (DIT); and Institute of Business (IOB) attended this program.
On 25 july, EMGS has an engagement session with the local senior high school students at the General Secondary School of Canossa and the College of St. Ignatius of Loyola. While YSS carries out site visits to the UNTL and the secondary public school, Ensino Secundaria Geral 12 De Novembro, Becora, Dili.
