DILI, 21 august 2024 (TATOLI) – The Government decided to grant full powers to the Minister of Transport and Communications, Miguel Marques Gonçalves Manetelu, to sign a memorandum of understanding with his Indonesian counterpart, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the area of transport.
Manetelu said that the government intends to certify the Rota do Sândalo International Airport in Oé-Cusse to guarantee the airport’s airport operations, safety, and security and connectivity at the international level.
“We need to cooperate with the Indonesian government to strengthen cooperation in the area of air transport. We are awaiting the Indonesian government’s decision on when the agreement will be signed,” he said on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers meeting at the Government Palace in Dili.
