CHINA, 17 october 2024 (TATOLI)—Four Timorese journalists are among the 20 journalists from ASEAN countries who participated in a two-week International Seminar for Media Professionals held at Ningbo Polytechnic University in China.
The seminar aims to strengthen cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in order to promote peace and stability in the region.
During the seminar, ASEAN journalists will be able to learn about Chinese successes in the development of industry, technology and the media and communications sector.
“This seminar is crucial for each of us to get to know each other better, share our experiences and explore new knowledge about the development of industry and technology, as well as media and communications, in order to support each other in the future,” said CEN Yong, the Vice President of Ningbo Polytechnic University.
Cen Yong stressed that the media plays a crucial role in the whole process of national development, saying China therefore is willing to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN media professionals in order to contribute to building and maintaining peace and stability in the region, which will pave the way for development.
Cen Yong advised all journalists to use the opportunity wisely in order to acquire new knowledge and skills so that they can apply them when they return home.
Si Yiping, the Vice-Chancellor of Ningbo Polytechnic University, thanked all the journalists for taking part in this seminar, saying that the seminar is a good opportunity for all the participants to share and learn from each other.
