DILI, 06 february 2025 (TATOLI) – Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, the world’s largest peace torch relay, will hold the 5K Peace Run, in Timor-Leste’s capital Dili, on february 7.
A group of international runners will be joined by local runners to run around Dili to help spread the message that peace begins with each individual’s inner peace.
This run event’s objective is to promote peace and anti-violence in a post-conflict country like Timor-Leste.
The team led by Executive Director of Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run, Salil Wilson was delighted to be able to share the Peace Torch with so many wonderful people in Timor-Leste, including Vice-Prime Minister and Minister Coordinator for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, Vice Prime Minister, Minister Coordinator for Social Affairs and Minister of Rural Development and Community Housing, House Speaker Fernanda Lay, and MPs: “We are really grateful to be here, and we are grateful to collaborate with the Government of Timor-Leste.”
Wilson said “The objective of Peace Run is really to share the message of peace, harmony, love, and happiness” to family, the community, and the world.”
“The word peace is not something we can wait for, but it is something that each one of us has to take a decision to be the best that we can be. And if we do the best that we can, then we will inspire others,” Wilson stressed.
He urged Timorese people to spread peace just by being kind, encouraging, loving, and loving others: “That changes the world.”
Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run team arrived in Dili on 5 February and will leave the country on 8 February.
The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global torch relay that offers everyone in the world a chance to express their longing for peace.
