DILI, 07 February 2025 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art and Culture (MJDAK-Tetun) hold an inter-ministerial meeting to coordinate preparations for the upcoming CPLP Games.
The 12th edition of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) Games will take place in Timor-Leste, from 17 to 27 July, 2025.
During the meeting, representatives from various ministries discussed key preparations, including strengthening logistics preparedness, protocol, and event management.
The Secretary of State for Arts and Culture, Jorge Soares Cristovão, who is responsible for the overall coordination of the events, said that coordinating the 12 ministries is fundamental to ensuring the success of the games.
The director of the National Service of Ambulance and Medical Emergency (SNAEM.IP), Simplício Amaral de Deus, said that 100 medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, will be prepared to provide immediate care and support to the athletes, officials, and spectators.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has pledged to ensure detailed planning and coordination for the smooth movement of athletes and spectators during the events, including receiving the athletes at the airports.
In order to ensure proper preparation for the upcoming CPLP Games, a delegation of 24 people from the CPLP will visit Timor-Leste from February 23 to March 1, 2025, to inspect the country’s preparations for the event, including sports infrastructure, accommodation, etc.
