DILI, 14 February 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Roberto Soares delivered a public lecture to the students of the President University, in Indonesia, on Thursday.
Ambassador Soares was invited by the President University to deliver the general lecture on the topic: “Milestone of Bilateral Relations and Mutual Collaboration between Timor-Leste and Indonesia.”
The lecture was attended by the Rector, Dean, and members of the Faculties, professors, and students of the Faculty of Law, the faculty of Social Sciences and Education as well as the 100 Timorese students who are currently studying at the University.
The event was very productive and interacted in a very friendly atmosphere.
Ambassador Soares, in the company of his wife Cecilia Soares, the 1st Secretary Claudia Soares, the 2nd Secretary Hernani Magno, as well as the Security Attaché, Chief Superintendent Armando Monteiro, the Immigration Attaché, Genoveba, Deputy Education Attaché, Herminio Almeida, Deputy Health Attache Amerhensya, and the Commerce and Industry Attache Apollo Justino were warmly welcomed by the students upon arrival at the University.
Prior to the lecture, Ambassador Soares and his delegation met with the Magnificent Rector and members of the faculty of the President University, exchanging information and discussing matters related to education and research for possible future cooperation between Timor-Leste and the President University.
Ambassador Soares and delegates also visit the new Faculty of Medical Studies.
President University, which is based in Jababeka Industrial Park, Cikarang, is the largest industrial estate in SEA, home to 2,000+ multinational companies from 34 countries (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia), has an enrollment of over 2,000 degree candidates every year, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
