DILI, 06 March 2025 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste Human Capital Development Fund (FDCH-Tetun) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with five Indonesian Universities as part of its efforts to establish and enhance higher education collaborations to improve the quality of education in Timor-Leste.
It is expected that this collaboration could lead to advancing Human Resource Development (HRD) in the country.
The signing of the MoUs between FDCH and Gajah Mada University, Atmajaya Catholic University, University of Mercu Buana, University of Borobudur, and ATMI Polytechnic Surakarta took place at the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Jakarta. The event was witnessed by José Honório da Costa Pereira Jerónimo, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, along with Roberto Soares, the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Indonesia.
In his speech, Ambassador Roberto Soares welcomed and congratulated the Executive Director of FDCH and the respective Rectors of the above-mentioned universities for their leadership and wisdom in building a shared commitment vital to the advancement of higher education and the development of human resources.
“Their collaboration signifies not only the partnership between the two institutions, but also the alignment and shared vision of the government’s strategic development plan for human capital development for a brighter and more promising future for the people of Timor-Leste,” said in a statement.
The event was attended by all representatives of the signatory universities of the above-mentioned MoU, delegates, diplomats, attachés, senior officials, and guests in a very friendly atmosphere.
