DILI, 25 March 2025 (TATOLI) – Timorese’ National Parliament (NP) on Monday in plenary session approved the state visit of the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, to Turkey.
The submission of a draft resolution on the request of the President of the Republic to Turkey was approved by a vote of 40 in favor, four against, and eight abstentions.
“Thus, the National Parliament gives approval for the visit of the President of the Republic Horta to Turkey,’ said the Speaker of the National Parliament, Maria Fernanda Lay, in the plenary session room of the National Parliament accessed by TATOLI.
President Horta’s visit to Turkey was based on an official invitation from the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to participate in the third edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The forum is scheduled for 11 to 13 April 2025 in Antalya, Turkey, with the theme ‘Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World.’
