DILI, 07 April 2025 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, last week, chaired a meeting with representatives of Santos and the Bayu Undan Joint Venture (BU JV) to review current developments related to the Bayu Undan field, including near-term priorities and planning for the next phase of the project.

The meeting was attended by Gualdino da Silva, President of the National Petroleum Authority, and Rui Soares, President and CEO of TIMOR GAP, E.P., which holds a 16% participating interest in the BU JV.

Discussions covered the status of ongoing operations, market conditions, and key commercial considerations, including cessation of production, infill and near-field development opportunities, and the potential integration of resources such as the Chuditch gas discovery.

Minister Monteiro also presented Timor-Leste’s preliminary view on a preferred development approach, reflecting the Government’s objective to secure long-term value through strategic infrastructure use and alignment with national development goals.
