Kupang and Timor-Leste explore ways to establish cooperation in education sector

DILI, 25 April 2025 (TATOLI) – A delegation from the Pastoral Higher Education Institution (STIPAS) of the Archdiocese of Kupang visited the Ministry of Education to discuss the possibility of establishing cooperation in the education sector.

Education Minister Dulce de Jesus said that the initiative focused on strengthening cooperation in the education sector, particularly in the training of the Indonesian language and the provision of scholarships for Timorese students.

The minister also said that this higher education institution has already established a partnership with the Technical-Vocational School of Salele in Covalima.

Meanwhile, the representative of the STIPAS of the Archdiocese of Kupang, Fr Florens Maxi Un Bria said that, since 2024, STIPAS students have been carrying out various academic activities in Timor-Leste.

“We have already established cooperation agreements with the Higher Institute of Philosophy and Theology and the Timorese Catholic University for the internship program,” he said.
