Indonesian motocross rider emerged as the winner in the final of the International Motocross Event

DILI, 18 May 2025 (TATOLI) – Indonesian motocross rider, Muhamad Zidane, emerged as the champion in the International Open Class final at the International Motocross Event held in Dolokoan, Cristo Rei, on Sunday.

Muhamad expressed his happiness, as this was his first time competing in Timor-Leste, yet he managed to secure victory.

“I became the champion here and showcased great performance for my team,” the foreign rider told journalists.

He noted that all competitors were experienced, especially Lewis from Australia, as they often competed together in Indonesia, which balanced their performances. However, he was grateful to have won ahead of Lewis.

Meanwhile, Nesta Bento, a rider from the Zefra Racing Team who secured third place in the 200cc 4-Stroke class, shared his key to success: discipline and caution, along with consistent training in the arena. He emphasized the importance of learning from experienced riders and using them as examples for improvement.

“The world of motocross does not create shortcuts for anyone. If you want to showcase your talent, come here and compete together, because riding on the track is different from riding on public roads,” she encouraged.

She expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for hosting the event, allowing riders to prepare effectively for international-level competitions.

Additionally, Chelin Valentina from the Shell Monteiro Brother Team, recognized as one of Timor-Leste’s female riders, stated that although she did not win, she was still grateful to have competed as a woman in a field largely dominated by men.

“I encourage my fellow women who have talent in motocross to come and compete in the arena to showcase their skills. Do not demonstrate your talent on public roads, as it can lead to traffic accidents,” rider advised.

Similarly, motocross enthusiast Dahlio Sousa shared that when he watches motocross competitions, he prefers the International Open Class because it features not only Timorese riders but also competitors from other nations.

“I find the International Open Class the most exciting because riders never show weakness and never lose points. In the end, the fastest one becomes the champion,” she commented.
