DILI, 11 June 2025 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste’s National Parliament on Tuesday approved President José Ramos-Horta’s upcoming state visit to Monaco.
The visit, scheduled for 21–26 June 2025 at the invitation of Prince Albert II of Monaco, was approved with 40 votes in favor, nine against, and no abstentions.
“Parliament has approved the President’s state visit to Monaco,” said the House Speaker Maria Fernanda Lay, on Tuesday.
During his stay in Monaco, President Horta is expected to take part in celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Móna Foundation and the 10th anniversary of the Foundation for Post Conflict Development (FPCD).
The visit will also include meetings with youth groups, business leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Monaco, a sovereign city-state on the Mediterranean coast, is bordered by France and lies just 16 kilometers from Italy.
