Dili to Host Luso-Asian Communities Conference

DILI, 18 June 2025 (TATOLI) – Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão and the President of the Tourism Authority of Timor-Leste (ATTL), Virgilio Smith, have announced the 4th Luso-Asian Communities Conference, which will take place from June 27 to 29 at the Dili Convention Center.

Held under the theme “United in Diversity – Challenges and Opportunities of a Centuries-Old Legacy,” the conference—also known as the Asian Portuguese Community Conference (APCC)—will bring together representatives of Portuguese-descendant communities from across Asia, including Malacca (Malaysia), Macau, Sri Lanka, Goa (India), Myanmar, Tugu and Flores (Indonesia), Thailand, and Timor-Leste.

The event will feature official speeches, keynote lectures, panel discussions, cultural performances, and documentary screenings.

A key highlight of the conference will be the presentation and signing of the Dili Declaration, which aims to establish the Association of Luso-Asian Communities (APCA).
