DILI, 22 July 2025 (TATOLI) – The Timor-Leste Australia Business Council (TL-ABC) today announced the launch of a membership drive aimed at growing its dynamic cross border network of businesses and partners committed to advancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Established in 2024, the TL-ABC serves as the premier platform connecting Timor-Leste and Australian businesses, offering members access to high-level networking, a strong collective advocacy voice, and a platform to access business networks to navigate emerging opportunities.
“Membership with the TL-ABC means being part of a trusted network that is shaping the future of economic collaboration between Timor-Leste and Australia,” said Andy Jacob, Chairperson of TL-ABC. “As we continue to grow, we invite businesses of all sizes, from both Australia and Timor-Leste to join us in driving shared prosperity.”
Building connections at the TL-Aus Business Conference The campaign will culminate with TL-ABC’s presence at the upcoming Timor-Leste Australia Economic and Business Conference, taking place from 6-8 August in Dili, where the Council will host a dedicated trade booth. This will provide businesses with an opportunity to learn more about membership benefits and engage directly with Council representatives.
On 7 August, TL-ABC will also host its signature Sunset Networking Drinks, bringing together local and visiting business leaders, investors, and government officials for an evening of relationship-building and discussion on unlocking new commercial opportunities.
A powerful platform for members
Members of the TL-ABC gain exclusive access to:
• Influence: Shape policy discussions through a united business voice advocating practical reforms on key issues such as trade logistics, land access, workforce development, and regulatory efficiency.
• Connections: Participate in networking events, trade missions, and roundtables with senior officials, including bi-annual sessions with the Australian Ambassador.
• Insights & Promotion: Receive tailored updates on grants, training, investment leads, and opportunities to showcase business success stories across TL-ABC’s growing digital and media channels.
“We’re proud to support the TL-ABC’s mission to strengthen economic linkages between Timor-Leste and Australia,” said Caitlin Wilson, Australian Ambassador to Timor-Leste. “A vibrant, well-connected private sector comprising Timorese and international businesses is key to driving jobs and inclusive growth.”
