2025 Dili International Marathon Launch Dim Expo 2025: A Three Days Vibrant Celebration Of Sport, Solidarity, And Culture

DILI, 12 October 2025 (TATOLI) – The Presidency of the Republic, in collaboration with the IX Constitutional Government, the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, and the Athletics Federation of Timor-Leste, launch the Dili International Marathon EXPO 2025. Beyond the main race on October 11, 2025, the event preceded by the DIM EXPO 2025, a comprehensive three-day festival program from October 9-11 featuring Three Days of Gastronomy, Music, and International Diplomacy. at the Gardens of the Nicolau Lobato Presidential Palace, Dili.

Under the central message of “Run for Palestine” run for Peace and Solidarity, DIM EXPO 2025 aims to celebrate and share the unique identity of Timor-Leste while strengthening regional and international ties, particularly within the ASEAN and CPLP (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries) communities.

The DIM EXPO 2025 is designed to achieve several key objectives: promote Timorese cultural and gastronomic identity; stimulate tourism through fairs, shows, and exhibitions; create income opportunities for local artisans, producers, and restaurants; and reinforce the marathon’s core values of peace and solidarity.

The Patron of Dili International Marathon, President and Nobel Peace Laureate, J. Ramos-Horta stated: “We are elevating the Dili International Marathon from a single-day sporting event into a multi-day celebration of our nation’s spirit. The DIM EXPO allows us to welcome the world not only to our beautiful running routes but also to our rich culture, our delicious cuisine, and our warm hospitality, all while fostering a message of international solidarity.”

Highlights of DIM EXPO 2025 (October 9-11):

The Expo will run from 18:15 to 22:00 daily on October 9-10, with extended activities throughout the day on October 11. Key features include:

National and International Gastronomy Fair: A culinary journey featuring Timorese flavors and international cuisines from participating ASEAN and CPLP countries, including special “Together Cooking for Peace” showcases.
