DILI, 27 February 2026 (TATOLI) – Aero Dili, the flag carrier airline of Timor-Leste, today announced its new direct international routes linking Dili with Darwin and Kuala Lumpur, strengthening the airline’s regional connectivity.

The announcement was made today during a press conference organized by Aero Dili at Hotel Timor.

The Dili–Kuala Lumpur route is scheduled to begin on 28 March 2026, while the Dili–Darwin route will commence on 24 May 2026.

Both routes will operate twice per week, with Dili–Kuala Lumpur flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Dili–Darwin on Tuesdays and Sundays.

The addition of the two routes is part of Aero Dili’s strategic expansion of its international network.

Lourenço de Oliveira, Executive Director of Aero Dili, said the airline is also considering launching new routes to the Philippines and Thailand.

Last year, the airline’s route to Xiamen was officially launched by the President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta.

Aero Dili is a local airline providing domestic and International flights in Timor-Leste. It is 100% locally owned and wants to provide excellent flight services in the country.

The first of Aero Dili’s leased aircraft—an Airbus A320 previously operated by Bangkok Airways and reconfigured to carry 162 passengers—arrived in Dili on 20 March 2023.

The airline’s second aircraft, an Airbus A319, arrived in Dili last year.

On 12 May 2023, the A320 operated Aero Dili’s first scheduled international flights, between Dili and Denpasar/Bali, Indonesia, and in February 2024 it was used to inaugurate a scheduled service between Dili and Singapore.

Aero Dili was founded on 21 June 2018 by Timorese businessman, Lourenço de Oliveira, a native of Atauro Island.
