DILI, 14 April 2026 (TATOLI) – Tivan Limited has identified high-grade copper and gold deposits in Baucau and Ossu, in eastern Timor-Leste, based on preliminary laboratory testing of surface samples.

The company said results from 12 samples returned copper grades of up to 17.4% and gold values of up to 38.1 grams per tonne, alongside cobalt concentrations reaching 0.45%, indicating the potential for high-grade polymetallic mineralisation.

Tivan said the findings are consistent with historical exploration data from previous licence holders, which recorded values of up to 37.8 grams per tonne of gold, 14.59% copper and 1.12% cobalt, reinforcing the geological prospectivity of the areas.

The projects are located about 123 kilometres east of Dili, in a region associated with significant copper and gold deposits but which remains relatively underexplored.

Tivan completed the acquisition of the licences in February 2026 and is preparing further work programmes, including additional sampling campaigns, geological mapping and geophysical surveys, aimed at defining drill targets.

Under Timor-Leste’s mining regulations, the company is also progressing a partnership with state-owned Murak Rai Timor and coordinating with the Autoridade Nacional dos Minerais to engage local communities and stakeholders.

Chief Executive Grant Wilson said the company was encouraged by the results, particularly the high-grade gold discovery, and would continue working closely with communities and partners to plan the next phase of exploration.

In a statement, Tivan said it is working with authorities to organise formal engagement activities in the relevant municipalities, involving local communities, veterans, stakeholders and government representatives. It added that it is advancing the establishment of joint ventures for the Ossu and Baucau projects with Murak Rai Timor, as required under the country’s mining code.

The company said the results are expected to support the advancement of the projects to the exploratory drilling stage.
