DILI, 24 february 2022 (TATOLI) – The year-on-year rate of change in the consumer price index (CPI) increased to 1.1% in january, a rise of 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous month, according to data released by the Directorate-General for Statistics (DGE) of the Ministry of Finance.
According to DGE data, the average price growth was due to the increase in the cost of food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco of 10.6%, education 3.8%, maintenance and domestic furniture of 0.6%, non-alcoholic beverages 0.4%, recreation and culture 0.4%, health 0.3%, transport 0.1%, and clothing and footwear 0.1%.
On the other hand, as the data indicate, housing fell by 0.8%.
“The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages showed an increase in the subgroup of rice by 0.8%, meat by 1.2%, oils and fats by 0.9%, fish and other marine food products by 0.4%, bread and cereals increased by 0.4%”, says the document that Tatoli had access to today.
Regarding the vegetable subgroup, the registered price drop is 0.3%.
The percentage of the annual CPI reported an increase of 5.4% in january this year compared to the same period of 2021, contributing to this the rise in prices in various food and non-alcoholic beverages of 6.4%, alcohol and tobacco of 16 .3%, transport 5.4%, housing 0.5%, equipment and maintenance and furniture 2.5%, recreation and culture 1.6%, health 1.0% and clothing and footwear rose 3 .4% and education 3.8%.
Previously, in december, Consumer Price Index with 0,5% inflation.
