DILI, September 2, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Representative of World Health Organization (WHO) in Timor-Leste, Rajesh Pandav has a formal meeting with the President Lu Olo,as part of his nine-year term completion in Timor-Leste .

At the meeting, Mr. Pandav took the opportunity to thank the Timorese people for the trust and said that he will continue to represent the WHO to serve in Nepal.

“I met with the Head of State and formally informed him of my departure here as a representative of WHO. I told the president that I will leave Timor-Leste next week on September 16, for my term to end. I will now assume the new leadership position in Nepal,” Mr.Rajesh Pandav said after the meeting.

In Spite Mr.Rajesh Pandav also recalled that, in the nine years of working in Timor-Leste, in 2011 he assumed the duty as political advisor at the Ministry of Heatlh and later in 2015 he became the Representative of World Health Organization (WHO).

In his time he has accomplished many objectives, specially related to the Development of Public Health.

“As see the number of malaria increased by two thousand every year, but today it begins to decrease, also for other diseases like measles, rubella and other disease we are able to control and minimize the numbers” he said.

Mr. Pandav also suggests to the Government to set the attention to COVID-19 in Timor-Leste.

“President Lu Olo praise the Workof WHO specially in responds to COVID-19 and Public Health that has been done to Timor-leste,” he said.
