DILI, 01 june 2023 (TATOLI)–The Superior of the Ordo Fratrum Minorum (Ordem Frades Minores) in Timor-Leste (OFM-TL), Frei Nicolao José Florentino, said OFM will build a holly place for the Relics of Saint Antonios in Timor-Leste.
“ The community in Fatuberlio Manufahi Municipality had offered their land, we will build a holly place of the relic of St Antonius in Fatuberlio, the municipality of Manufahi as the place for the devotion of the Christians,” Nicolao José Florentino told TATOLI through the exclusive Interview Program in Farol Dili.
He explained that the design for the holly place of St, Antonius had started at the begining of this year and with funding worth $5 million
Frei Nicolao José Florentino hopes that the visitors will contribute from generous people who wish to practice their devotion to St Antonius in Welaluhu, Fatuberlio.
“The OFM plan to establish this holy place to become the tourism religion and can be the destination place of International tourist and local tourist in the future, we do not have the budget but with the cooperation and coordination with the government, this project will implement in the short time,” he said.
In addition, on June 3, the Catholic Church in Timor – Leste will carry out a procession for the Relic of St. Antonios from Fatuberliu Manufahi to Dili.
Relics are one of the important aspects of religious manifestations. Relics come from the Latin reliquiae, which means “relics.” The relics of St. Antonios are only in three different places, Fatuberlio, Padua, and Lisbon.
