DILI, 29 december 2023 (TATOLI) – The government through the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) presented 2023 Business Excellent Award certificates to 46 companies for their outstanding business activities.
The Minister for Trade and Industry, Filipus Nino Pereira, said that the certificates awarded to these national companies are intended to recognize their outstanding business activities and their existence for more than five years.
“Timor-Leste companies, which have been doing business for more than five years deserve this certificate. So these 46 national companies meet the criteria because they have a strong commitment to doing business in a very difficult situation such as the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Minister Pereira in Dili.
He said that the certificates given consisted of four categories: automotive companies, small companies, medium-size companies, and large companies: “There are 10 automotive companies and each of them received a certificate and a US$2,000 prize, while the other companies received a certificate and US$1,500.”
Automotive companies consist of Zidnio 2004; Saknuka Unip, Lda; Tiano Laktel Namo, Lda; AITOLA; PUK; NELNI QUI; Diantera; ROTAN SEU TULANG; LOJA DAMONLOU; LAKMAN, UNIP, LDA; Zito MOCO.
Small companies consist of Aranda Lospar, Unipessoal; Sania, Mara Mresa Café Lda; RELLY STAR; FEMENATIN Unipessoal, Lda; Loja TATOLI; Raimundo Marcal; Batako Filemo Unip, Lda; Diborna Unip, Lda; Airira, Unipessoal Lda, Codram Unip, Lda; Lawankaras; VML; Leo Atsabe; Belamor; SOJAREMOR; Sonira Larisa, Unipessoal; Mahowen Loro, Unipessoal; Cidade Backery and Limaas, Lda.
Medium-sized companies consist of Naza Construction; Estrela Gleno Unipessoal; Vicarman, Unip Lda; LINSARELFRI XVIII Unipessoal; Black Smith Unip, Lda; Winforever Unip, Lda; and AFIFRA Unipessoal, Lda.
Large Companies consist of ACELDA Unip, Lda; Manufahi Liu, Lda; Robinson Lda; Borala Lda; LM Caicasa Metin; Gota, Mineral Water; Consarcio Austim Beverage, SA; Starking and Lisun.
“This money will help them to continue developing their business activities. Because they help diversify our economy and create job opportunities for the people of Timor-Leste,” Minister Pereira said.
At the same place, ACELDA Director Higinio da Costa said it was a great appreciation from the government to officially recognize Timor-Leste companies’ contribution to national development.
“The award demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the private sector in the country. I will do my best to ensure that my company continues to work in the agricultural sector, to meet all the needs of consumers at national and international levels,” he said.
He called on all companies to work hard in various business activities to help diversify Timor-Leste’s economy.
