DILI, 16 january 2024 (TATOLI) – From July to December 2023, TradeInvest Timor-Leste facilitated the export of four local products (coffee, candlenut oil, seaweed and Laccifer Lacca Kerr) to six countries.
These local products have been exported to Japan, Australia, the UK, China, the US and Indonesia.
TradeInvest facilitated the export of 83 tons of coffee, 32.5 tons of candlenut oil, 25 tons of seaweed, and 24 tons of Laccifer Lacca Kerr.
Cocomau and PARCIC exported 4.9 tons of coffee to Japan, Kafé Organiku Atsabe exported 14 tons of coffee to Australia and 19 tons of coffee to the UK, Alter Trade Timor also exported 10 tons of coffee to Australia and 36 tons of coffee to China.
Meanwhile, Acelda exported 26 tonnes of candlenut oil to Hawaii, 1.5 tons to Boston, and five tons to China.
In addition, Tryaswars exported 24 tons of laccifer Lacca Kerr to Indonesia and Cottonii exported 25 tons of seaweed to Indonesia.
“The data shows that coffee is still the country’s only cash crop. Tradelnvest will continue to promote the export of other products. The more we export our local products, the more we will contribute to the diversification of our economy,” explained Ezequiel Babo, the Director of TradeInvest’s Investment Promotion.
