DILI, 06 march 2023 (TATOLI)- The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Timor – Leste, Shin Man TAEK, today met the Prime Minister (PM), Taur Matan Ruak, discussed the sending of Timorese workers to South Korea this year.
“Last year South Korea only provide opportunities to around 500 Timorese workers but this year South Korea wishes Timor – Leste, to send more Timorese workers to work in South Korea to diversify the family ‘s economic and also to contribute to the national development of Timor – Leste in the future,’’ he said.
According to TAEK, the South Korean Embassy is working together with the Government SEFOPE to provide information to workers before leaving for South Korea.
At the same time, Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak and Ambassador TAEK also shared the process of Independence of both countries.
“We discussed Korea‘s experience through the process of independence in building the country. At present Timor – Leste already gotten its independence, so with the experience, we wish to implement in Timor – Leste to send a lot of Timorese workers to work in South Korea,’’ the Ambassador of South Korea in Timor – Leste, Shin Man TAEK told reporters at Palace Government on monday.
In addition, Ambassador TAEK conveys South Korea’s commitment to continue supporting Timor-Leste in various sectors for development of Timor-Leste.
