DÍLI, July 24, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) sent off the Defence attaché for the Republic of China, Colonel Huan Damin, with an award certificate and a plaque for the accomplishments he achieved over four years in Timor-Leste.
The PNTL Commander Gen. Commissioner Faustino da Costa appreciates the strong cooperation from Col. Huan Damin and his support of the institutional development of PNTL and the Timor-Leste Defence Force (F-FDTL).
“I wish Colonel Huan Damin a good trip home; we hope that Colonel Huan Damin misses Timor-Leste and one day returns to observe the progress of the PNTL,” Gen. Commissioner Faustino da Costa state in the press release.
Col. Damin thanked the Government of China for its cooperation in strengthening the institutional capacity of PNTL.
“I’ve completed my mission within four years. I recall that there have been several changes in the leadership of the PNTL and three new ministers of the Interior”, he said.
Huan Damin also added that although his term has ended, he already has a successor who will maintain the cooperation with the security authorities in Timor-Leste.
“During my mission at the Chinese embassy, the collaboration between the PNTL, the F-FDTL and the Chinese Police was always cordial and close. We have seen good results from the collaborative work. The new Defence attaché will continue this work to improve the functioning of security institutions”, he concluded
