DÍLI, July 29, 2020 (TATOLI) – Timorese Government has authorised the conclusion of an agreement between the Government of Timor-Leste and the World Bank on a financial contribution from the Civil Society for Education Fund (CSEF), affiliated with the Global Partnership for Education.
“The Fund for Global Partnerships for Education aims to strengthen educational systems in developing countries, thereby increasing the number of children with access to school and training,” said Fidélis Magalhães, the president for Council of Ministers, at the Government Palace.
According to him, the granted support aims to strengthen the educational sector, with regards to the acquisition of materials, facilities as well as the training of principals and teachers being implemented by the Ministry of Education.
Fidélis Magalhães stressed that the Government is handing the responsibility over to the Minister of Finance, Fernando Hanjam, to assist the agreement with the World Bank.
