DILI, 17 august 2020 (TATOLI)– Government Ministry of Public Works (MPW), Ministry of Planning and Ordination (MPO) and the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MTC) set priorities for necessary infrastructure in 2021.
“Regarding this plan, I was summoned by the Prime Minister to inform him about the progression of our investment plans for 2021 across three development areas of necessary infrastructures such as clean water, electricity and roads,”Minister Salvador inform this after meeting with Prime Minister at PM office.
MOP, MPO and MTC previously had coordinated to concentrate on the priorities for 2021.
The roads construction will focus on productive areas, markets and will see the demographic quantities in the reference areas.
Clean water plan, has 21 designs ready to forecast in 2021 budget as well as its implementation.
Based on recording data from MOP, there is 50 per cent of the country’s populations have access to the clean water.
In 2020 the MOP planned to build a 270 km rural road that was included in the 2020 state budget but failed to be implemented due to political reasons and this plan has now been delayed until 2021
Regarding 77 villages that do not have access to electricity, the plan reaches them has been included in the 2020-2021 state budget along with 33 packs of additional electricity projects, where the bill of quantity has been provided and sent to the National Development Agency for verification.
This project will be implemented based on the location of the villages which are close to the electricity construction centres.
