DILI, 24 August 2020 (TATOLI)-The Ministry of Finance has allocated $1.8 million to Autonomous Health Medical Equipment Service (SAMES) to purchase drugs and healthcare equipment.
“We appreciate the Minister of Finance for arraging $1.8 million of funding for SAMES to continue a provision process, we are putting the effort to get the drugs in short time,” SAMES Director Santa told journalist at his office Kampung-Alor Dili.
With this support, SAMES will try to accelerate the import process for items from abroad to Timor-Leste to respond to the state stock that has been out in the warehouse.
In Spite SAMES has foreseen the Temporary budget allocation of 2019 with the total of $ 3.7 million to purchase the drugs.
Currently they are doing provisional process and some are in the step of deliberation thus it is surely that the drugs will be imported and reach TL in November 2020.
” We are now trying to complete all the facilities in the Clinics and other drugs store, they are facing the difficulties on importin these drugs from abroad,” he said.
According to last week report, the drugs stock in the warehouse begin to lessen to 2.8% also include the vital drugs of pregnancy.
SAMES still preserves 95 items of drugs available, such as magnesium Sulphate 50% Vial /10ml, Pencilin Benzyl Penicilin PFI 1 MU600mg, Amoxicilin/Clavulanate Oral 125mg/31.25mg/5ml.Bot 100ml, Captopril 50mg tabs, Chlorpromazine HCL 25mg tabs, Diclofenac Sodium IM Injection 25mg amp/3ml and others.
