DILI, 26 august 2020 (TATOLI)– After becoming the new president for the Institution of Petroleum and Geology (IPG), Gabriel Gaspar Aparício de Oliveira said, he will continue to focus on the program prepared by the former President of IPG, Hélio Casimiro Guterres and his team.
The priority program which has been identified by IPG is to survey to determine and identify the level of quality of clean water in Timor Leste.
“The priority of the program will focus on clean water consumed by the population for a day because so far, the government has not focused on the quality of clean water for the population.”he said
For this initiative, the institution has come up with results from a survey, which says most of the population uses water in gallon bottles or water drilled from the earth.
It is a priority to form an IPG laboratory because so far, the government has not given full concentration to the IPG.
“When IPG submit their budget proposal, the government had reduced the budget, and this is very difficult for the institution, “he said
The Continuation of the programs for this year and 2021 are the revenue and transference, human resource development and intersectoral programs.
But the sub-programs are payments, centre for sharing the information, geological impacts and human resources impacts.
The new IPG president will continue to work with the old IPG president.
“The former president has 8 years of experiences, I have to work with him in management and consultation and on what has been going on in the form of engineering during his guidance, because he is a geologist, therefore we have to return to professional work, but he will oversee the engineering works, “he said
