DÍLI, 06 august 2020 (TATOLI) – Representative of World Food Program (WFP) in Timor-Leste Dengen Liu said, Humanitarian flight operated by Malaysia Airlines landed at about 3:30 p.m. at Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili on Wednesday, 02 bringing with it 50 passengers.
“this is nine times operations, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Dili, and the flight bring 50 passengers, and the flight will bring 30 passengers from Dili to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at same day” Dengen Liu Told Tatoli at Nicolau Lobato Aiport.
These passengers are the humanitarian workers from United Nation Organization (ONU) and the diplomats who have duties in Timor-Leste.
He added the flight also bring the medical equipment such as test kits, masks, electrolyte analysis around 2000 kilogram.
These equipment will be given to the Government’s Ministry of Health.
Mr.Liu thanked the government for authorizing the WFP flight doing the operation until today.
“We thanked the government of Timor-Leste for allowing the flight to do the operation, and also thanked the Airport Authorities for providing the good cooperation ,” he said.
Thus, the WFP will continue to support Timor-Leste to fight against COVID-19.
