DILI, 28 september 2020 (TATOLI)– A Timor-Leste Foreign Minister, Adaljiza Magno said today that, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is discussing the plan of opening the commercial flight from Malaysia to Dili once in every month.
“We already have a request to open a commercial flight between Malaysia and Dili once a month, and the proposal has been discussed as a possibility, due to the closure of Indonesian Airports,” Minister Magno said.
The government has decided the flight from Malaysia to Dili is a safer option during times of COVID-19 when compared to other nations which the number of cases has continued to increase every day.
“Once the operation of this flight has begun, hospital patients will be able to be transferred abroad for their treatments, which means the flight will continue from the airport of Malaysia down to Singapore,” she said.
She also added, that Air Timor flight already has a request to do the operation from Malaysia to Dili and Dili to Malaysia.
“The flight has been requested, and it will begin to operate in the short term,” she said.
