DÍLI, 27 november, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Expo 2021 Dubai, Timor-Leste will present 27 sample of products which were previously qualified from 12 municipalities including Oé-Cusse-Ambeno (RAEOA).
The National Commissary for the Dubai Expo, Manuel Vong said the national authority held a competition called Pre-Expo Timor-Leste Road to Dubai to select the local products before presenting the 27 products in Dubai.
“The selection counted on the collaboration from the 12 municipalities including Oé-Cusse Ambeno ”, Manuel Vong told Tatoli at his office, at Mercado Lama, in Dili.
He said Timor-Leste is currently preparing several handicrafts selected from every region within Timor-Leste, these objects are composed from three traditional two traditional carved wooden statues, sacred replicas and traditional house (uma lulik), and traditional clothes (artifices) for male and famale.
According to him, the Expo Dubai authority has created the group of judges composed of Directors from the different ministries to perform the evaluation to the products selected, aimed at identifying the best qualified products that represent every municipalities including Oé-Cusse-RAEOA.
“The Products were based on the lists recorded from the Commission of Dubai Expo; thus, the national authority will not make other choices to be presented next year,” he said.
Vong added that the ANED-TL will make official introduction for the 27 products based on the results made from the group of judges.
“The products for the exhibition will be transported as soon as possible, dependes on the budget transfer from the State particularly by the National Authority of Dubai Expo which is U$200 thousand” he said,
He also revealed about Timor-Leste participation in the event is to promote the country’s crafts products and sell them.
Mr Vong said the products have been selected to be presented at the Dubai Expo is Coffee from Atsabe and Letefoho.
