DILI, 07 december 2020 (TATOLI)– Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, acknowledges the problem in the sustainability of the petroleum fund and wants to an open discussion for the model of national development fund.
“Regarding the sustainability of the petroleum fund, we will need to discuss it further. I think this is a problem. And whether we want it to be or not, this is the whole country’s concern, and not only the concern of leaders,” PM Taur Matan Ruak said.
The State Budget is excellent in the short term for the access of fund for the development of human capacity and necessary infrastructure which will be able to both provide and encourage investment in the private sector for economic diversification.
“President of Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo has talked with me about the possibility of opening the discussion regarding subjects which are important for the Timor-Leste’s development. Hence we will have to make time to have a discussion,” he said.
