DPC art Exhibition opening at Fundação Oriente

DILI, 12 december 2020 (TATOLI)- Dili Photographic Community (DPC) has launched second photographic exhibition at the Fundação Oriente on december 12, 2020 to 01 February 2021.

The DPC president, Ze Calistro”Ali Baba Timor,” said  This month’s theme is”Hope II” and the subtheme is” What is Hope?”and you can take a virtual walk through the exhibition, look at the photos, and listen to the photographers talk about them.

according to Calistro, the even is held every year to give the orientation to the new members to grow into the permanent members in the (DPC).

Calistro said, before the images are showcase in the exhibition the DPC members were taking basic class practices about the photograph portrait. The images will be selected by the judges before displayed in the special exhibition.

“The cover picture must be displayed in various categories such as find up, human Interest, Surrealism, landscape and others.” President of DPC, Ze Castro ‘’Ali Baba Timor” informed to TATOLI at Exhibition ceremony in FO Dili, Saturday.

It is recalled that the DPC was stablished in 2013 with the proposed to build up the knowledge of the young people about the photograph and extend the relationships as small family to explore the local tourism and promoting the culture and the beauty of Timor-Leste as well as making the social control in all aspects.

To him, DPC as an umbrella to show up all the young people who have passion of photographs to learn more about the photographs. Currently DPC has 30 members.

DPC is encourage the group and the members on how to learn more about the photography and promoting the photography areas in Timor-Leste.

“We had very good outcome, because some of the DPC members were able to receive the contact from people to take the photoshoot, on the prewedding and other activities, “he said.

According to the observation from TATOLI, the first day of the exhibition, many tourists were visited the place.

He recalled that the first exhibition was organized by the DPC on 2019 aimed at helping the school fee of the people with low-income background.

“So, this is the second exhibition DPC has launched, this exhibition also aimed at collecting the budget to support the young creative people who have not receiving any supports, and through this organizing exhibition we can collect the money to support them,” he added.

Today DPC has stablished the Dili Photography Gallery which is formerly located on Falur Rate Laek foundation in the down town, to create the START Projects to collecting the money through the mini photographs.

“This has become as motivation for us, to inspire all the members in DPC to learn more and advance their knowledge to be more creative,” he said.
