DILI, 25 january, 2021 (TATOLI)–Timor-Leste Commissioner for 2021 Dubai Expo, Manuel Vong, said Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Tourism Commerce and Industry (MTCI), will seek to encourage foreign investment to invest in various sectors in the country over the Dubai Expo.
Vong said Timor-Leste has been prepared since 2019 regarding the requirements impose by the Commission of Dubai expo, associated with tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, innovation, health, education, work, transportation, logistics and technology.
“Among the ten sectors, Timor-Leste will be prioritizing the areas of tourism, agriculture, oil and transport,” Vong said.
With the present of Timor-Leste in the event, MTCI seek to attract foreign investment in the sectors of Tourism, agriculture, oil, transport and logistics.
“I believe that these are the major sectors than the rests,” Manuel Vong told Tatoli at the CCD Dili.
Vong said, his Institution will make sure to introduce the advantages of the four important sectors to the foreign investors in Dubai showcase.
“The creation for water reservation is one of the priorities in agriculture sector, while for the tourism sector the focus will be on religious tourism such as hotels and the promotion of nature landscape. Lastly Oil and Mineral sectors, the focus will be on the human resources,” he explains.
For him, the event will represent the added value for Timor-Leste, because Timor-Leste will potentially promote and commercialize its products worldwide.
“Timor-Leste is a unique country in the Southeast Asia. We can make other countries admit with our cultural and attract the tourists through our participation in 2021 Dubai Expo”, he said.
