DILI, 9 february 2021 (TATOLI) – The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC), Julião da Silva, said the team from the National Authority of Expo Dubai in East Timor (ANED – TL) made a brief presentation to MNEC of the program and activities related to Timor-Leste’s participation in the world exhibition that will take place this year.
“It indicates a positive step that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to be able to promote our resources in the diaspora. At the same time, this event will strengthen our relationships with other countries,”Julião da Silva, said after meeting with ANED TL, at the MNEC building.
According to him, MNEC will coolaborate with the team to finalize the preparations regarding the country’s participation in Expo Dubai after gathering the information from ANED-TL team.
da Silva added that after the end of Dubai Expo, Timor-Leste will be able to continue promoting products and local articles abroad to sustainability of the country’s cultural and gastronomic heritage.
According to the deputy minister, Expo Dubai is a great opportunity for Timor-Leste.
Anyhow the Commissioner-General of the National Authority of Dubai Expo in East Timor (ANED – TL), Manuel Vong, said that MNEC will assume an important role in Expo Dubai, so his team introduced the plan as well as the activities that have included in the program.
“Our role is to promote, disseminate information and doing the business about the various meetings that have already conducted between the different ministerial lines. The purposed is to complete all the preparations in the organization of the event, such as the logistics and activities that will be performed during the Expo”, he said.
