DILI, 19 february 2021 (TATOLI)- Government’s Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste host the first quarterly Development Partners Meeting (QDPM) to updates on the 2021 General State Budget and the economic recovery for both medium and long terms as well as the National vaccine deployment plan.
The Minister of Finance, Rui Augusto Gomes said, the meeting serve as a forum for both the Government and the Development Partners to continue to maintain open communication and to keep both sides updated about the project and program including in the politic of the 8th constitutional government to find the supports that will align with the programs.
“We introduce these programs to our Development Partners and waiting for their supports for the programs that align with the program of 8th Constitutional Government,” Rui Gomes said during the meeting at the Ministry of Finance Hall, Aitarak Laran Dili.
During the event, the government also presented the 2021 General State Budget and the Government’s policies on the economic recovery for both medium-term and long-term
“This session will provide the opportunity for the Development Partners to learn more about the Government’s approach and how best to potentially provide the support needed,” he said.
At the same time, we present the COVID-19 Responses and the National Vaccine Deployment Plan
Meanwhile during the meeting, the government has also approved the resolution for the national vaccine plan for covid-19, and discussed with the partners.
“The Australian Embassy in Timor-Leste presents a compilation of all relevant development partners’ support towards vaccine deployment, thus providing a full picture of the shared efforts towards an effective vaccine rollout. Since there are contribution from the government and the donors specially Australia,” he said.
The meeting also concluded with the Development Partners Tour de Table where each participant has provided high-level updates on their existing and upcoming planned activities that may be relevant to the government and other stakeholders to be aware of.
The meeting is participated by the representatives from the relevant Government line ministries, Diplomatic Corps, Development Partners, Private Sector, Civil Society Organizations and the Media.
